Tape Sizing

This is the process of adding size to the yarn to reduce the chances of it breaking or fraying during the weaving process. We have 2 tape sizing machines which can run a maximum of 10,560 ends, a maximum barrel length of 340cm and a maximum width between flanges of 324cm. The beams produced in beaming are placed at the back of the machine and the yarn is taken off the back beams and immersed in a size mixture. The wet yarn is then passed over steam heated cylinders which dries the yarn and then finally is put on the Weavers Beam which is delivered to the customer.
